I have to admit, not a whole lot is going on right now. We're both trying to get through the last weeks of Summer I classes before doing it all over again during Summer II. We're still hoping for an apartment in one of the nice complexes to become available, but we haven't had much luck with that yet. We've continued our (relatively) healthy eating habits. Lately we've just been watching a lot of X-Files and going out to Studio Movie Grill every now and again. All in all a pretty ho-hum existence.
We've seen family a lot this month, though, and that has been nice. We were with Terry's family two Saturdays in a row for Glenna's birthday, and then last Sunday we went over to my sister's house for a Father's Day dinner, and we both had a really good time. I've missed my family like crazy the last few months, and it was so wonderful to see everyone. I hadn't seen my dad since December, and I thought it wasn't affecting me much, but when we got there and he answered the door I just gave him the biggest hug. You never, ever outgrow seeing your parents. I hadn't even realized how much I'd missed him.
We ate steak and had cheesecake for dessert. My sister and I went off shopping while the guys watched Disturbia. Kathy is supposed to be coming out in a couple weeks so we can get manicures and pedicures. That should be so much fun!
Terry dropped that Economics class, but he's still in History of Western Civ. He finally got to go and hang out with his best friend Ian on Wednesday night, and he had a really good time. They did some work on the car and played "Rise of Nations." I think it'd been a month or so since they'd been able to get together. Crazy summer work and school schedules, no doubt. Terry's still in Orchestra and he and I have started helping out on Wednesday nights at the church, serving "Wednesday Night Supper." It's been fun, and the food has been great!
We've been going to these awesome outdoor movies put on every Thursday night by Excel Campus Activities. So far we've seen "Vantage Point" (liked it), "Horton Hears a Who" with Jenni and Eric (cute movie) and last night we went to see "21" (I liked it, Terry didn't). They're normally shown outside under the stars, using a huge white screen on the wall of the MAC and a projector situated in a truck bed. They give out free popcorn sell drinks and candy, but you can bring your own snacks. We've really come to enjoy it, but last night it was held indoors because of the rain, and I think next week will be the last one we attend. All the rest of the movies they're showing in July look like filth.
Well, that's our summer in a nutshell. I'll update again soon.
