Surprise Plans

Well, last night's plans were a bit of a surprise, but we had a lot of fun. We'd forgotten that we were supposed to go to the movies with Frank and Song, some friends of ours from China. They're awesome- we always have such a good time when we hang out.

Anyway, we ended up going to see Forbidden Kingdom at the AMC at the Parks. I wish we could have taken them to Studio Movie Grill (I think it's LOADS better), but they weren't playing our movie there. The movie was interesting, though not anything I'd go to see myself. Song HATED it, but Frank and Terry seemed to like it okay. Frank was telling us that it's a movie based on this old Chinese story about how Buddhism spread. He said it was VERY different and Americanized, but it was kind of cool to hear their take on it.

Oh, and they are expecting their first child! Song is FIVE MONTHS along and still skinnier then I could ever hope to be. We checked out the new Barnes and Noble last night before the movie (so. amazing.) and we started looking through baby name books. Song liked the ones she could pronounce easily... I think her favorite was Maria. Frank's was Emily.

I'm just so glad about how God has blessed us with these friends. It's a lot of fun to introduce them to American culture and learn more about theirs.

I'm looking forward to when Song has her baby... and Jen is going to have hers soon too, though she's due in late August, while Song's due in October. Plenty of babies to hold and dote over! There must be something in the water...

Well, I'm going to go home and cook dinner. I'm planning Lemon Pepper Chicken with seasoned rice and some kind of veggie. Yum!
