But it's sooo good for you!

We decided to try out this low-sugar meal plan that I found in my Women's Health magazine. We went and spent an absurd amount of money on groceries for it, telling ourselves it was okay because we wouldn't be eating out (we eat out more then we care to admit=). We have NEVER had our fridge so stocked with food in our entire married lives- we were so excited to get started.

Today was day one. We were supposed to have 2-egg omelets this morning with swiss cheese and scallions, half a grapefruit, and coffee. Alas, we woke up late and ended up having to skip breakfast. So we had our "snack" of a half an apple each instead.

Lunch was a debacle. Let it be known that I HATE hummus. I had never HAD hummus until a rather unfortunate experience with it today on a whole wheat wrap with a ton of vegetables that STILL didn't manage to drown out the flavor. GROSS. I have never had a food item that literally made me want to cry because of how disgusting it was... until today. Granted it was Garlic and Chive favored hummus, so maybe the original is better, but EW. (Terry loved it, by the way. He ate all of his wrap and a third of mine that I just couldn't bear to force down).

We just got done with dinner. It consisted of a palm sized piece of chicken with some salsa, a half a TON of broccoli, a cup of chicken noodle soup and a sweet potato with LIME JUICE. The sweet potato with lime juice wasn't too awful for me, but it was poor Terry's version of hummus. He HATED it. He glurped it down with a pained expression while I reminded him about my hummus experience. After a while I took mercy on him and told him he didn't have to eat it. But I have never had so much broccoli in one sitting. I feel kind of sick. And we're supposed to be having 2 kiwis topped with coconut for dessert.

I have no clue how we're going to survive this week. =)
