We had a nice evening last night. Terry got off work at 5, and Andrew and I went and picked him up in the car so we could all go to Wednesday Night Supper at church. Andrew is a popular guy there-- everyone wants to see him, hold him, say hello to him. He's a little ham, too, all smiles and coos. I think he enjoys the attention.
We came home for a little while afterward and then decided to go wash the car. I was hoping to go through the drive-thru variety, but they have gotten ridiculously expensive. SEVEN DOLLARS for one of those drive-thrus you'd see at a gas station. We paid a quarter for three minutes with a power washing hose instead. Andrew's eyes got wide when Terry washed the back windshield. He and I were having fun playing with his Wubbanub in the backseat while Daddy did all the work. ;)
After that, we went to Braum's. We decided to shop their "fresh market" and actually found some pretty good deals. We got a container of strawberries for $1.29, which is amazing since they are typically $4 at Kroger. We also got bean dip and a container of berry and granola frozen yogurt that reminded us of the stuff we had at Orange Cup at the Galleria a few weeks ago.
When we came home, it was time for Andrew to go to bed. We have a solid bath, bottle, bed routine and normally he goes down without a fuss. Last night, though, he woke up every 15 minutes or so until 11:30. He was acting hungry, so I fed him another couple of ounces and burped him. I made sure he wasn't hot or cold, checked his diaper, and he still woke up 15 minutes later. Finally Terry went up to him, rocked him in the rocking chair for a few minutes, put him down and he actually stayed down. I guess he needed his Daddy's special touch.
Terry and I then stole an hour to eat bean dip, ice cream, and watch a Star Trek DS9 episode. How we cherish those little moments that used to be so routine!
