Post Nuclear

Observe. An atomic blast. This atomic blast apparently occurred in my LIVING ROOM a few days ago. In its wake there remains a tragic scene of cardboard boxes, packing tape, and our entire lives' belongings strewn across the dining room floor. Clothing? Food? A bath? Ha!! You'll be lucky to make it through the room without a stubbed toe or a face plant into a box of cleaning supplies. And don't bother trying to organize. Your professors have made sure that is NOT an option.

All right, it's not THAT bad. Yes, we've showered, and no, we're not running around starving and stark naked (you're very welcome). But it does seem post nuclear, and I cannot wait to get everything organized!

The move went well, although we didn't get everything done at one time like we did the first time around. We got most of the big stuff moved Saturday, with the help of our awesome families. We hadn't planned to turn in our keys at the old place until December 7th, but then we found out rent could be reimbursed if we left earlier than that! So, we sped cleaned the place today (it was completely unplanned that we did it so soon... but thank you to those who offered to help!) and will probably turn in the keys by the end of this week. Things are happening so fast!

Leaving our old place was bittersweet. The new place is much bigger, but older, so we've spent a lot of time cleaning and trying to get everything going. I'm sure it'll be great once we settle in, though. Hopefully that won't take too long!

School is hectic. We have both had numerous tests this week and the homework is just piling up as we approach Thanksgiving. It's hard to believe that the semester is almost over. I'm taking a Winter Intersession class in December. I'm going for a History minor, so I went for the one upper-level history class offered: Mexican-American History. What are the odds, right? I guess it's cool that I'll get to learn about my ancestor's history... even if I don't really consider myself to be very much a part of the culture. And anyway, it means that I will only be taking 3 classes in the "real" Spring semester and they're all online! YAY!

Terry is doing well. He's in the home stretch of FIVE classes, and he is doing well in all of them (he'll tell you he's not doing as well as he'd like, but trust me- he's amazing). He has really worked hard this semester and conquered some challenging classes and I am really, really proud of him. He's also gotten involved in a lot of campus organizations. He's an Ambassador for the NABE (it's an Economics organization-- not sure what the acronym stands for, though) and President of the College Republicans. He's also landed a work-study job-- doing exactly what I used to do! I quit a few weeks ago, and he was hired in my place. So, he's truly my knight and shining armor. He's been so supportive and made things so much easier on my pregnant self this semester. =)

I'm at the MAC (the UTA gym) right now, waiting for him to get done working out. It's coming up on an hour, so he'll probably be down soon. I'll keep you guys posted on the apartment-- hopefully by the next time I post I'll be able to say "everything is all put away now!!"

Hopefully...
