Spring Break and Easter

We had a great spring break and Easter. We didn't really do much, but it was a nice to get out from under our obligations for awhile.

We had my nephews (Matt and Josh) over on Monday night into Tuesday, and it was a lot of fun. We played board games, went to a movie and watched LOTR I that night. We went bowling the next morning. Spending time with them was awesome, but it helped me appreciate our all-too-brief life stage (married, no kids) all the more.

Later in the week we just sort of spent time at home. We went here and there (Borders, out to eat), and I spent a lot of time working on wedding plans for my sister-in-law Erin, who is newly engaged. She asked me to be her Matron of Honor, and Terry was asked by Jeff (her fiance) to be a Groomsman.

Easter was a lot of fun. We had to go to BOTH services that morning, because Terry plays in the Orchestra. I didn't mind, though... I loved the music and the meaning behind it. Afterwards, we went to Terry's family's house for Easter lunch, and Erin formally announced her engagement to her mother's side of the family. After the extended family left, Terry, Tonya, my Terry, Jeff, Erin and I played a 3 hour game of dominoes. It was really fun... long, but fun.

Then school started again. The week has flown for me. It has been a swirl of school assignments, catch-up and wedding planning for me, and Terry has been busy with his myriad of clubs (Pre-Med/Pre-Dental, Chess Club, and about 2 others I don't have names for...).

Speaking of clubs, I went to an English Student Association Book Share dinner last night at Olive Garden. It was fun. The members are all self-professed quirky English majors. I shared the book Maus, which (if you haven't heard of it) is a graphic novel about the Holocaust written by the son of a survivor, telling his father's actual story. It is amazing. Depressing, but amazing...

Terry finally finished his "How the Scots Invented the Modern World" book that I got him at Christmas, and has reopened his book on Benjamin Franklin. He's set to play the prelude at church one Sunday in April, and he's been practicing like crazy. He's gotten really good at the piece he's chosen. So talented, that one!

Well, I think that's everything. Sorry for the lag in updates!
