Pressure Valve

We're both really starting to feel the pressure this semester. Everything started out fine, but it's becoming harder to stick with a routine every day. I have gotten to bed at 2AM the last two days because things just kept getting pushed back until the very end of the day and we'd end up staying up late to do them. Our daily devotionals are getting harder to do- we did yesterday's at 1:45AM! We decided to be spontaneous yesterday and blow off our first two classes for an IHOP visit, which was fine, but now I'm a little stressed about the stuff I missed.

Poor Terry studied so incredibly hard for his Chemistry test on Monday and he felt pretty good about the grade- he guessed a B or a high C. He got a 52. He had been so nervous during the test (he was sitting in the far back, aisle seat with poor lighting and a TA breathing down his neck the whole time) that he worked a bunch of the problems wrong, even though he knew the material. He took the test home when he got his grade and worked all the problems with ease, getting the correct answer each time. He was so upset. His professor basically said he hadn't studied enough, and then informed him that taking a class for grade replacement (which he is doing for Chemistry) is the WORST thing he could have done if he wants to get into med school. Apparently UTA sees the grade as replaced, but grad programs just average them together, which means that if Terry gets an A in Chemistry this semester, it'll still be a C in the eyes of the med school, because he purposely made an F the first time around. You have to have a D or F to replace a grade, and he wanted the chance to make an A in the class. He would have gotten, ironically, a C the first time around otherwise. So he's talking to his pre-med adviser today about what his professor told him. Hopefully, the prof is full of it. I just feel so bad for Terry- he worked so hard!

Anyway, ever been happy to make a B- on an English paper? I am! I've made an A on every English paper I've ever written for this university, most of them (in my opinion) sucky. Finally, a professor that will actually help my writing and bust me down! I'm so excited about that!
