Lots of "firsts" going on in our neck of the woods these days. Yesterday Andrew tackled three in a row: he rolled over from his back to his tummy, then straight from his tummy to his back (he looked like he was rolling down a mountain and seemed VERY surprised by the sensation- it was cute), then later on in the day shocked me by catching his pacifier and pushing it back into his mouth before it fell out. I was surprised at how proud I felt-- I couldn't stop smiling or snuggling on him. Our strong, smart little guy!
He stirred around 6:00 this morning, a little early for him, and it didn't take me long to figure out why. When I went into his room, he had rolled onto his tummy and had two little legs poking out of the crib slats, kicking back and forth. Poor little guy, he had no idea how to get himself out! He's never been a fan of tummy time, but he seems to like it a little better when he gets there himself. He hasn't quite mastered rolling back over to his back, he's only done it once, so he gets a little frustrated. But wow, he's just hitting milestones left and right. It's getting easier and a lot more fun to take care of him!
He started rice cereal a week and a half ago. He has it every morning. At first he just gave me a "What's THAT?" look and spit it out, but he's getting better about swallowing and eating from a spoon now. Once he masters it, we'll start him on jarred baby food. I already bought a jar of Beech Nut Sweet Baby Carrots, but I'm holding off on feeding it to him until he gets a little better with his cereal. I can't wait, though! I've been looking forward to feeding him solid foods for MONTHS!
He's giggling a lot more, and he's become ticklish. His neck is especially ticklish, just like me, so you can get a giggle from him if you "chomp" on his neck a little (not like me, LOL). He's also discovered his feet. I bought him some foot rattles and it was hilarious to see him play with them. He was trying so hard to get them off his feet, but they're like little shoes and wouldn't go anywhere. So finally he decided to make the best of it and started talking to them. "Ooo, Oooo, Agooo!!!"
I'm utterly in love with a four month old sack of sweetness. =D
