Blue!!

It’s a boy!!! We’re going to have a son! We had the sonogram today and it went really well. That little guy was hyperactive, and the tech had a hard time getting good pictures a first, but eventually she did and he’s handsome and absolutely perfect. We had been set on naming him Miles, but… well, he just didn’t seem like a Miles. I know it’s crazy to say something like that after only a sonogram, but Terry and I both decided to swap out the original first and middle names. So instead of Miles Andrew, we’ll have Andrew Miles. Drew is the nickname I most like for him, but we’re not deciding that yet. It seems like the baby might decide for us anyway with his own little personality. He did for his first name!

I have to admit, it’s a crazy experience going from saying “the baby” and “he or she” to a definitive “he.” And oh yes, it is definitive. This is definitely a boy—no doubt, clear as day on the sonogram (if it were a girl, she’d have some serious issues! =). So, it’s blue all the way. I couldn’t be more happy. “Our son” has to be the best phrase I’ve ever committed to print. I am just so overwhelming grateful for this little miracle.
